Mother’s Day

I think back to the last two Mother’s Days…I spent last year in San Francisco, and the year before in New York….I thought of them as little gifts to myself, even though, or especially since I was working…I love my work, so it’s not really WORK….so last year I was in SF….and I got to meet and photograph this beautiful family. Doug is an architect, and I caught them in the mid process of their renovations…it is a gorgeous combination of old and new – and I am not sure they want to complete it ….it’s one of those houses that make me love my job, which I realise I have just mentioned twice – Am I trying to convince myself that it’s OK to work on this Mother’s Day just becasue I happen to love what I do????? Or is it the late night writing that is talking?

Anyway – As Mother’s Day approaches, I should start hinting to my husband and kids that I get to sleep in on Sunday and I would love to wake up to a couple of slices of french toast , banana, coffee and a flower…..
