It’s Valentine’s day….and it all abou the hearts and the pink and the LOOOOVE.
So this photoshoot closes my Holiday Season with Knoll from Thanksgiving, through Christmas to the final labor of love the Valentines day shoot in Irvine. It was a day filled with hearts and chocolates…Here are some of my favorites, not necessarily the ones I send to the parents, but a few that caught my heart while editing tonight.
Have a great week in preparation for the dreaded Valentine’s Day! and Have a good one!
When I first had my child, Kyle, 5 years ago, I had of list of things I would never do…or rather I wouldn’t let him do…
He would not use a pacifier
He would not watch TV
He would not have sugar
He would not have too many toys (and all OVER THE PLACE)
HE would not eat at McDonald’s…especially after reading and loving “fast food nation”
so what happened? LIFE. crying ( pacifier), exhaustion (TV), day care (Sugar) another kid (double the toys), time, work , friends…and to top it all off:
moving 2 blocks away from the golden arches, and this is what happened.
AND MOST CERTAINLY
I have to
make this photos go down. so that it doesn’t hit the writing in the right, until my next post comes along in a few days.
We have a lot of books lying around, and even pick them up and read. I have a bout 10 books by my bed, but admittedly, I’ve read about 20 pages in each…and think I will get back to them. That’s part of the appeal of kids books, they’re SHORT, funny, have LOT OF PICTURES, and sometimes, can teach you so much about life, more than you can learn from a 5 pound book. There are a few books like that, that I love reading to my kids, because of all of the above, and mostly, because they teach me a little something about myself, life and how to deal with it all. Three of these books come to mind, and we have been reading them a lot lately ( when I get to choose…)
My friend kath introduced me to this book, and reading it to Kyle and Zoe just brought it to a whole new level for me, that I almost always cry, and I love reading this book for breakfast because it inspires me to go out into the world and be the best I can be, for the best of reasons. I’ts smart, witty, and beautiful.
It’s pretty obvious what this book is about, and it’s as good as it’s cover, I should probably read it every day with my cup of coffee or while I brush my teeth, and dance around saying that to myself. I like myself, I like myself, I like myself…
A book about being different and being OK with it, and how hard we are on those who are different. I promise, the message is deep. and funny, and Mo Willems, is the other write I’d love to meet, the first being David Shannon, whose art I am putting on my wish list if it’s out for sale or I’ll just frame his books, they’re that good. He’s latest, or at least the last I got, I mean my KIDS got is
ok, I did say three, but his books are collectibles.
II admit, I forget, I forget how amazing the beach is, especially California beaches especially in Malibu, on a warm wintery day, early in the morning. The the sound of the waves, the birds flying, the stones sitting in the sand washed by the waters with no care in the world….Like me, for 5 minutes, remembered to take in the view the smell the serenity (NOW!!!) and then they arrived…and that was even more fun, because how many pictures of the water can I take…oh wait a minute…some people DO DO THAT……so here’s what I did…
I was invited to shoot a Tea Party for real princesses, and there were so many of them…who said they live in Fairy Tales only???
my new year’s card had three photos, here’s a couple them
I just got back from a long vacation with my kids in Rochester Ny…and didn’t do any blogging during that time even though I PLANNED to…so here are some of those plannings, some photos fom pre xmas that I get to post now…here are the Darmodys
