There are some temples that don’t allow photography on the Saturday of the Bar MItzvah – and that’s fine …so we get together in our nice clothes…ok – THEY d get in their nice clothes they’ll be wearing on Saturday, (and they always look nice!) and we fake it till me make it , while having a blast. Mostly.
So while I work on my “don’t forget to bring to your mock- shoot at temple” list, I will be sure to add “Yad” that is used for reading the Torah, it’s “hand” that’s used as a pointer -and is usually given as a bar/Bat Mitzvah gift. So the torah is out and open, on our sunny Tuesday afternoon…and I asked with a smile – “do you have your own Yad?”…which of course they did…AT HOME!!! Luckily – they lived really close; and with pleading looks from the Bat Mitzvah, Dad made a special expedited trip and picked up the “Yad” so I could get a close up for eternity’s sake. I promised to make it worth it!
They say – “A picture is worth a thousand words“, they also say ” actions speak louder than words“. ( so do actions speak louder than pictures…?)
What I says is – A dad willing to do anything for his daughter ( and his wife… :) speaks loud and clear. So to answer my question – Yes, it was totally worth it! All of it! I loved spending a wonderful afternoon with you guys and a fun-tastic evening with your families, thank you for being open to my crazy ideas!
