A morning at the Santa Monica Pier

.jpg)
One of the first places I visited when I arrived in Los Angeles over 10 years ago , was the Santa Monica Pier. I went there with my dad, and we drove onto the parking lot on the pier itself. I remember thinking how special this place was, and how scary the parking lot felt, even though I realize it was still just above the sand, I wondered if the structure would hold… it did, of course….We walked to the end of the Pier to look at the water and think abou t life. Still, it is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles – I find it to be a mixture of beauty, engineering triumph, modernism, and fun with a contradiction from the human foot print in nature, the kitchiness of it all, pop culture and consumerism. I wasn’t entirely surprised when Nate and Lisa told me that’s where The Proposal too place, and I was more than happy to suggest that we return there – as it is truly, a special place for them.
This is the bench where all the magic happened… and yes, if you scroll down, they re-enacted the whole scene (Nate IS an actor, after all…) and I think, te moment was just as thrilling as the first time…. SO please scroll down and enjoy the morning with Nate and Lisa, who said she was shy, but was not shy at all! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in May for Michael Segal Weddings…. Nate and Lisa – you were just too cute, I ususally keep these descriptions for kids, but in your case – too cute!
